Citizens Bank provides $50,000 grant for green roofing project


Today a $50,000 grant from the Citizens Bank Foundation was presented to Philadelphia LISC (Local Initiative Support Corporation) for is Sustainable Communities Initiative.  The monies from this grant are being used to revitalize neighborhoods.  This grant will also be used to provide The Partnership CDC’s Green Roofing training program designed to create green jobs while lowering home energy bills.

The 300 Block of Holly Street in West Philadelphia was one of the two blocks selected to receive free roofs.  Nine houses on the block have been completed so far; two have received a green roof, and seven have received a cool roof.  The remainder of the block will be completed by the class of nine graduates of the Green Roofing Professional Certification Exam.   Click here to learn more about the Green Professionals Program and our Green Initiatives.
